The title probably says it all. I’m not a fan of the whole vampires, werewolves, and Twilight Saga madness. The random sightings of Hollywood celebrities around Soho rarely leave me star struck and I couldn’t care less whether R-Patz and Kstew are an item or not. So it was extremely funny for me to be so star truck to the point where I was lost for word when I met Mario Batali.
For those of you who don’t know Mr. Batali -I don’t know where to start! He’s one of the chefs on Food Network’s famous show Iron Chef America. He owns more than a dozen of critically acclaimed restaurants in New York City, Los Angeles and Las Vegas such as OTTO, Del Posto, and of course the super famous Babbo.
It took me 30 long grueling minutes of constant redialing in order to get a table at Babbo. You see, in order to get a table at this restaurant, you need to call a month in advance. The reservation line opens at 9 am, I called at 8.59 and by the time I got connected the line was busy! It was that crazy!!!! But oh was the experience so worth it!
I wouldn’t say that Babbo is my favorite Italian restaurant in New York City. However, getting a glimpse of Mr.Batali, one of my all time favorite chefs made my night…pfft who am I trying to kid, more like it made my week/ month/ year!
Here are some pictures from the dinner:
