Let’s learn a little bit more about Yarinda – the ever so talented Thai actor/ singer/ song writer (whom happens to be my lovely big sister!) – through her take on food.

 

1.       Are you a good cook? คุณทำอาหารเก่งไหม

Not at all!!! ไม่แม้แต่นิดเดียว!!!

2.       What’s the meanest dish you could cook/bake? อาหารจานไหนที่มั่นใจว่าทำอร่อยที่สุด

You can never go wrong with instant noodle with egg มาม่าใส่ไข่  ยังไงก็ชัวร์

3.       Where was your most memorable restaurant experience?  ร้านอาหารที่น่าประทับใจที่สุด

A ramen restaurant in Tokyo that has a vending machine and an LED map at the front, where you preselect your food then proceed to walk into an empty cubicle spot that is shown on the map.  The layout of the space is really interesting.  Also, it’s the first time that I did not get to see the face of the waiter (or anyone else, as a matter of fact).ร้านราเม็งที่ญี่ปุ่น ที่พอเราเข้าไปเราแค่สั่งอาหารจากตู้กดและไปเลือก “คอก” ที่จะนั่งจากแผนผัง LED ที่พอมีที่ว่างก็จะขึ้นมาเป็นไฟสีเขียว แผนผังร้านเค้าน่าสนใจมาก และก็เป็นครั้งแรกด้วยกับการไปทานร้านอาหารที่ไม่ได้เหฌนหน้าพนักงาน (จริงๆแล้วไม่เห็นหน้าใครเลย)

4.       What’s your worst food memory? ความทรงจำเกี่ยวกับอาหารที่แย่ที่สุด

I was walking under the Siam’s BTS station, it was pouring, water was filling up the streets. As I passed a fried chicken cart, I happened to see the water dripping down from the BTS track and splashing from the street into the container where they marinate the chicken – what an interesting secret marinate recipe! เย็นวันนั้นเดินอยู่ใต้สถานีรถไฟฟ้าสยาม  ฝนกำลังตกหนัก  น้ำก็นองพื้นถนน  เราเดินผ่านรถเข็นไก่ทอด ที่บังเอิญชำเลืองไปเห็นถังหมักไก่ของเขา ที่วางอยู่บนพื้นฟุตบาตริมถนน  น้ำจากท่อระบายน้ำรถไฟฟ้าหยดลงมาใส่ถังหมักไก่พอดี  บวกกับน้ำจากถนนที่รถขับผ่านแล้วกระเด็นใส่  ไก่เจ้านี้หมักได้ใจทีเดียว

5.       Compare yourself to a dish, what would you be? ถ้าให้เปรียบตัวเองเป็นอาหาร จะเป็นอาหารจานไหน

Never done it! ไม่เคยทำมาก่อน

Something that’s not smelly! อะไรก็ได้ที่ไม่เหม็น

9.       Describe your ideal meal if your budget was unlimited? มื้ออาหารในฝันของคุณ ถ้าบัดเจ็ทไม่เกี่ยว

I like very simple things, usually when things get expensive then I have too high of an expectation, and more than 50% of the time I’m disappointed with the results.  But I would sure love to try El Bulli before it closes! ชอบอะไรง่ายๆ เพราะอาหารแพงๆจะมาพร้อมกับความคาดหวังที่สูงเกินไป และเกือบครึ่งที่มักจะผิดหวังกลับมา

10.   Any strange eating habits? นิสัยการกินแปลกๆ

I like to order desserts before I eat my main course. ชอบสั่งขนมมากินก่อนอาหารคาว

11.   What’s the strangest food you’ve ever eaten? อาหารที่แปลกที่สุดที่เคยกิน

Snail: not very inventive, I know.  But it still took a lot of courage! หอยทาก ซึ่งถึงแม้อาจจะไม่แปลกเท่าไหร่ แต่ก็ต้องใช้ความกล้าหาญเยอะเหมือนกันนะ

12.   If you’re stuck with one dish for the rest of your life, what would you choose? ถ้าต้องทานอาหารจานเดียวไปตลอดชีวิต จะเลือกทานอะไร
